    Haute Pursuit: Get Ready For Sale Season Now

    This is always a fun time of year. Stores are quiet, the fashion is fresh, and sale season is right around the corner. Once markdowns begin, it becomes increasingly difficult to find the best destination to buy a specific item. It’s best to prepare now.

    With a little twist of technology, we are making it a lot easier to find the right item for the best price. Haute Pursuit is a desktop browser extension that actually scans thousands of websites to find alternative sale options while you’re already shopping. You can click here to download the extension to your browser now. (Unfortunately, this feature cannot be used on mobile devices.)

    We recently added dozens of new sites in our most recent update. That means that you’re more likely to find a great deal while you’re shopping. If you know exactly what you want, you can click the Haute Pursuit icon in your toolbar and enter a search term.

    Haute Pursuit will scan your key term against 1000s of retailer’s websites to find you all the matches that are on sale. The extension can be used with Safari, Chrome, or Firefox.

    Let’s say you’re shopping on Italist for a Fendi dress. You find a great black and white color combination and see it’s already reduced over $265. Not bad, right? Without even another click Haute Pursuit offers you all the other sale options for Fendi dresses. What do you know… The same dress is available for even less. SCORE!  Total savings: $300.

    It’s doubtful that the exact item could be found without hours of work. Same with these Balenciaga bubble slides. We thought $565 was an okay price but were thrilled to save an extra $50 here. 

    Haute Pursuit is still in Beta testing and doesn’t automatically drop-down suggestions at every retailer but we are adding more retailers every week. Always remember, you can also tap the Haute Pursuit icon in the toolbar and enter a search term to find nearly any item for which you’re in “Haute Pursuit.“

    Downloading the  Haute Pursuit extension is very easy and will immediately engage.     Savings of 30% on This Season’s Hottest Items

    If you’re looking for savings on the hottest items of the season it’s usually best to shop early in the season. European sites inherently offer designer fashion at about 10% to 15% off US prices when the currency exchange is favorable. When you can add an extra promotion the savings becomes even more meaningful.

    Right now, the British site TheDoubleF has lots of great designer items priced lower than in the US and you can save an additional 10% off with the code WELCOME10. Just take note, the site does not include duty. Items over $800 may be subject to taxes in the amount of 9%. That still translates to a nice savings over US retail prices. 

    Some examples include this Prada quilted nylon bag that comes to $1200 from $1890 US. Even after duties, you’ll save $600. That’s a bit more than 30% off. This Bottega mini Jodie is $1330  with the promotion and after duties, the savings is $430. Bottega Raffia heels are $790 from $1020 US. 

    Above is a selection of the most requested items of the Summer. Once these are gone it might be a long while before we find another destination offering significant savings. Search now for the items you want most.

    Great Options for Mother’s Day Gifts

    I don’t recall a year when mothers were more deserving of heroic recognition. We are teachers, chefs, housekeepers, mental health counselors, friends, physical trainers, activity directors, and that doesn’t even include our professional obligations.

    This week, Alessandro Michele presented the 100th Anniversary Collection for Gucci. The most remarkable elements were the “hacking collection” with Balenciaga and the Tom Ford revamp.     The show was exciting, even as viewed on YouTube. The situation is that once you start pulling the pieces apart there isn’t that much newness. There isn’t very much to purchase.
