We spotted some incredible pre-season markdowns at Saks Fifth Avenue today. The real designer sale will start later this month but below is an assortment of some great items that should hold you over.
The Italian boutique D’aniello is offering an amazing deal exclusive to MadSpy fans. You can use this link to shop an exclusive edit or recent merchandise that’s discounted 30%. (Men can shop from this link.) Use the code MADISON30 to engage the discount at checkout. The promotion ends May 11.
Usually, a season is defined by a trend or specific item. In recent years, chunky Balenciaga sneakers, fur-lined Gucci slides, bright Bottega pouches, and Off-White arrow sweatshirts have all provided a moment of need.
Savannah’s is hosting a weekend sale where lots of designer shoes are discounted 40% off. No code is needed. There are also no taxes or duties, which adds to the savings. Be on the lookout for savings up to 40% off on Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, Alexander McQueen, and Alaia. Some of the best deals are below.
LuisaViaRoma is offering 20% off a selection of Spring merchandise. You can use this link to access all of the items included in the promotion. At checkout, use the code DAILY20 to engage the savings. Take note, items with a star are not included in the sale. Some of the best deals are below:
Every well-stocked closet needs a silk scarf (or two, or many). It’s never been more true than this season where the scarf is taking the stage as the most versatile accessory. The silk square can be worn around the neck, in your hair, or even styled as a top. Larger sizes can be used on the beach or pool as a pareo and in a pinch, it can be used as a face mask.
As Mother’s Day approaches thought it was the perfect time to spotlight this classic accessory as the must-have item of the season. This simple square offers a lot of bang for the buck and with a little bit of imagination can be used in a variety of ways.
Hermes silk scarves are the golden standard but we also love a great Pucci or Missoni print. A Versace motif is always perfect, the Gucci florals are works of art and a Dior oblique is as Haute as they come this season.
If you’re thinking of offering a scarf as a gift, you can pair it with the book How to Tie a Scarf: 33 Styles. We also love the old Hermes scarf catalogs as a gift accompaniment. Alternatively, you can click to the Hermes website where there are lots of tutorials and ideas.
There really are no right or wrong answers when it comes to tying your silk scarf. The only faux pas is leaving them unworn in the boxes. (Guilty!)
Denim seems like the logical option as the weather transitions into the warmer season. Jeans and a tee. Jeans and a leather jacket. A dress with a jean jacket. One step above sweats but restrained dress up.
This is the perfect time to grab some wear-now dungarees. Frame is hosting an online sample sale where lots of great items are reduced up to 80% off. You can use this link to enter the sample sale section. The selection includes shorts, tops, bags, shoes, and of course, the American gold wardrobe standard of jeans.
Some highlights include tapered cropped jeans for $65 from $235, a cropped jacket for $125 from $345, white flared jeans for $125 from $255, and a denim blouse for $75 from $270. The sale also contains lots of accessories and wardrobe basics. Sandals with ankle straps are $100 from #325, a small tote is $65 from $225 and this double-wrap belt is $50 from $245.
This week I had an impulse to buy a gown. I don’t have any place to wear it but I have the strongest desire not only to dress up but to fully gala. With no exaggeration, I spent at least 10 hours scrolling through dresses
The exercise was quite useful. I confirmed that most formal gowns are horrendously ugly. I also found myself gravitating to the same designers that I have always loved. As a matter of fact, any dress I’ve ever wanted I already own or considered buy and would be happy if I did. If you hit the jump I posted pictures of dresses that haunt my dress-up dreams. Some of my current favorites are Toni Maticevski, Brandon Maxwell, Alexandre Vauthier, Mohammed Ashi (Ashi Studio), and Delpozo. Of course, there’s lots of vintage inspiration too.
Now, I just need to figure out is where to wear this said gown. Will it be La Grenouille, Le Bernardin, Indochine or Mansion Diner?
Moving on to this week’s sales, I must admit to possibly overindulging. I leaped when I notice that the exact color of the exact Bottega bag I wanted was about 30% off what it costs locally. As a matter of fact, TheDoubleF has lots of new season designer items priced lower than in the US and you can save an additional 10% off with the code WELCOME10. This mini Jodie in aqua is a find at $1300 from $1800 US. You can click here to see all of our favorite finds.
