Shopbop Starts Real Markdowns 40% Off

This month has been filled with promo codes and friends and family promotions. Shopbop is usually an early sale retailer and this season it’s sharing the discounts even earlier than usual. Right now, you can save up to 40% off on lots of Fall merchandise. A large part of the Shopbop selection is items that we have seen included in various promotions. We might suggest thinking ahead for the holiday season and tucking a few of these markdowns in a closet until the tinsel is ready.

    LuisaViaRoma 30% Off

If you’re traveling to Florence, I always suggest a stop (or shop) through LuisaViaRoma. It’s a multi-brand boutique that has great designer merchandise but the store itself is merchandised a little bit differently. When you’re shopping it doesn’t feel like you are uncovering new trends and you have the experience of uncovering interesting items. We love that even if you can’t get to Florence you can shop and save. Right now, LuisaViaRoma is offering 30% off new collections with the code HLW30. There are lots of designer exclusions but plenty of good finds. Duties are included, sales tax is not. Our sale items are below.

Savings of Up to 40%: YSL, Prada, Balenciaga

European sites inherently offer designer fashion at about 10% to 15% off US prices when the currency exchange is favorable. When you can add an extra promotion the savings becomes even more meaningful. Right now, the British site TheDoubleF has lots of great designer items priced lower than in the US and you can save an additional 10% off with the code WELCOME10. (Items marked “Carry Over” or those with a little “o” are not included in the promotion.) Just take note, the site does not include duty. Items over $800 may be subject to taxes in the amount of 9%. That still translates to a nice saving over US retail prices.

    Net-A-Porter: Friend’s & Family 25% Off

The mums on Park Avenue are the most visible sign that Fall has officially arrived. The changing leaves and cooler weather means that the sample sale season isn’t too far away. Like post-season baseball, shopping gets serious in October. It’s the perfect time of year to be on the lookout for holiday gifts, outerwear, and of course, boots!

We’ve exclusively listed only the sample sales that we think are worthy of your time and effort. The post will continue to be updated throughout the month and remain just a click away in the right sidebar. The sale was very organized no line cutting or paying off. The wait to get into the sale ranged from 60-90min, We expect that the wait to attend will double or triple to three to five hours once the sale opens to the public. As always there are no bags or leather goods at sample sales. Most items are 50% off and ready-to-wear is 60% off. Each shopper is limited to four pairs of shoes. There are conflicting reports as to the selection of shoes but it depends on your shoe size and when you attend the sale. (The best merchandise always gets snatched up quickly.) Jewelry is limited to a total of six items no more than two of each style. There are no Clic-Clac bracelets but there are some exotic CDC cuffs. Lots of hats, gloves, and beach bags. In the housewares section, you’ll find towels, blankets, throws, pillows. Of course, there are silk scarves, cashmere scarves, and ties. Most att4endiess were underwhelmed, You might want to take that into consideration before you invest an entire day waiting in line.

The Jimmy Choo sample sale kicked off to press this morning. By 9:30 am the general admission line wrapped around the avenue. Prices on most style shoes run from $200-$350. The largest assortment is among the size 36s, 37s & 38s. Most options were older shoe designs but that didn’t stop plenty of shoppers from loading up bags of shoes. Lots of sparkle and nudes. I suggest you wait until the later dates of the sale— if you’re inclined. Happy sample sale-ing

This might be the best The Row Sample sale. All clothing is priced at 80% off retail and bags and shoes are 75% off. There were lots of bags but most classic styles seemed to go quickly. The selection includes a lot of sweaters, coats, jackets, blazers, pants, and skirts. Lots of great classics that everyone loves from The Row. LVMH Is the Frontrunner for Bergdorf Goodman Acquisition

LVBG might soon be our favorite shopping destination. We have unconfirmed information that LVMH, the French luxury conglomerate,  is the frontrunner to buy Bergdorf Goodman. The 57th Street retail icon is currently owned by Neiman Marcus, which just came out of bankruptcy in September 2020.

Neiman Marcus denied any suggestion of selling the “Lavender Lady” when buzz started in July with a New York Post story stating that Ashkenazy Acquisition Corp. was an interested buyer of the property. The Post reported that Ashkenazy was negotiating for Bergdorf Goodman since Barneys, their former tenant at 660 Madison Avenue, went out of business.

If the LVMH purchase is successful it would give luxury tycoon, Bernard Arnault, control over all four retail corners of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street. The company currently owns Loius Vuitton, Bulgari, and most recently Tiffany. Bergdorf Goodman would be a venerable retail “monopoly” on what’s regarded as the most valuable retail real estate in the United States.

LVMH isn’t a newcomer to the department store game. The department store game. The company owns Le Bon Marche Rive Gauche in Paris, which operates as 24s.com online. LVMH recently renovated the landmark Parisian building at a cost of $894 million. The space was closed for 16-years and opened in June with a spa, a Cheval Blanc hotel with 26 rooms and 46 suites, a daycare center, coworking space, and social housing.
