    Designer Spring Clearance Blowout Sale

It’s officially Spring, which means it’s time to sweep those gray clouds away and get ready for a new season of warm sun and new collections. Before anyone starts grabbing the sunblock, it’s a good idea to shed any extra winter bulk and that’s exactly the plan at Global Fashions.

Starting Monday, the luxury discounter will open it’s doors to the public for a major Spring clearance sale. This is the first time (and possibly the last time) Global Fashions is offering discounts this low. Get this: Any shoe with a red box is just $260 and boots will all be priced at only $395.

The selection includes a large variety of samples and last pieces. Lucky shoppers will be able to snag Rockstud sandals, pumps, flats, slingbacks and more. The shoe selection also includes a small variety of espadrilles, sandals, and sneakers. Boot styles include the iconic floral print high and low-style boots, the color block series, the stars collection, and the classic braided high boots. There are also great options for men too. (You can click here to see nearly 100 pictures.)

Most red box shoes retail for about $1000 and boots are normally about $2000, which translates to a savings of 75% to 80% off. You can take note that there will be no restocking and there will be a purchase limit of eight pairs of shoes.

The Global Fashions clearance sale also includes lots of other designer deals. All other brands of shoes, bags, and accessories, including Stuart Weitzman, will be reduced 70% off. All shoes, handbags, and accessories are 70% off.

Couture designers will be 80% off. All other designer clothing from the likes of, Pamela Roland, Marchesa, Genny, Alberta Ferretti, Dsquared, Catherine Malandrino, Philosophy,  and Ferre will be discounted 85%. Click here to see pictures.

As we noted, we have never seen discounts this low on red box shoes. There isn’t a large size assortment. This is only a three-day sale and we expect many of the most popular styles will sell out fast.

    Net-A-Porter Designer Discount Promotion

The trend of early designer discount promotions is expanding. Net-A-Porter first started offering a small discount exclusively on designer shoes but has now extended the promotion to a full assortment of product verticals. Now through the end of the month, you can save 15% off anything within this link with the use of the code NETAPORTER15.

You’ll quickly notice that most of the merchandise within this promotion edit will be included in the first markdown. The fact of the matter is that the big first markdown won’t happen until mid-May and some items might sell out before then.

This Saint Laurent medium Vicky bag is a consideration as it’s is one of those items that might not make it to sale season. We wouldn’t say that same advice about the Chloé C bag. It’s hard to discern if it’s Chloe, Celine or even Coach. (We all know it’s not Chanel!) We have a feeling we will be linking to this bag at 60% off in no time.

This Petar Petrov leather button-down skirt caught us mid-scroll. At over $1100, we wouldn’t normally suggest pouncing but there are only two sizes remaining. This isn’t the type of skirt that is purchased in bulk by retailers but it’s a gem. The same goes for these two-tone Jennifer Chamandi flats.

We were surprised to find an abundance of beauty products in the discount edit. We usually don’t like buying cosmetics online but a 15% discount on a restock might not be a bad idea if you use especially pricey products. (Callout: Diptyque is included too.)

Most everything is included in this promotion besides for the biggest and most in-demand designers of the season. We suggest looking for what you want most and inquiring about inventory levels. Once you have all the information, you can decide if 15% off is a big enough discount now or you can wait for 30% off later.

Inside: Oscar de la Renta Sample Sale

This afternoon, the Oscar de la Renta sample sale kicked off in Soho to press and Gilt ticket holders. The sale includes a great assortment of almost all designer’s categories including dresses, gowns, coats, day-wear, skirts, furs, jewelry, belts, bags, shoes, kids clothing, and bridal gowns.

ODLR is always a highlight of the season. It’s the perfect sample sale to pick up something nice and new for the Spring fundraiser circuit or Wedding season. The press preview was wonderfully calm but the half-dozen professional line-waiters outside holding spots for those who purchased early entrance coupons from Gilt City. We all know what that means!

Once inside, we were first captured by the children’s selection. Most dresses are priced at $65 and coats are $85. Most items aren’t sized, which makes any purchase a roll of the dice. The most remarkable find was a pink long-goat-hair vest that was marked $40 from $2000. (We have pictures over here.)

Beyond the children’s clothing, there is a large selection of evening gowns and day dresses. We recognized many of the dresses from the last sample sale but there were some additions from the most recent pre-fall collection. There are dresses, pants, and skirts in an eye-catching giant houndstooth tweed.

This red and black houndstooth style pant was $250 from $1990, a black-and-white style is $150 from $1790 and this trumpet cut dress is $250 from nearly $3000.  We also noticed numerous items in a check-tweed print. This dress was $250 from $2700. We also spotted several of these gold leaf embroidered dresses for $450 from nearly $3000. (See our pictures from the sale over here.)

Take note, the sale doesn’t include a lot of size variation. It appears as if most items are samples from years past. You will have the most luck if you wear a size 4 to 8. Most evening gowns were priced in the  $600 to $1000 range.

The sale, this season, has less jewelry than the last go-round. Earrings are all still priced at $65. There were some of the floral and beaded tassel styles. We also spotted some new style bags with a large flower applique for $500 from $1790. (See our pictures.)

Downstairs, there are three large racks of bridal gowns and an assortment of shoes. Most shoes are priced at $89. Most gowns we saw are under $1300 from over $9000. (Click for pics.)

The ODLR sale is one of those popular events that tend to attract lots of shoppers. The sale usually has a healthy line throughout its entirety. It’s not usually too bad of a wait but you should clock in some extra time if you’re thinking of taking a quick pass through the sale.

The OutNet Sale Extra 25% Off Clearance

The Outnet started a clearance sale off about two weeks ago and we highlighted some of the standouts over this way. The discounts top out at 85% off.

Our informants tell us that the sale will be coming to an end on Wednesday. For the last day, the site will offer customers an additional 25% off. The promotion will begin on Tuesday at 9am. The private code is FINALS.

Some of the items we’ve been eyeing include, this Chloe celestial print mini-dress that will come to $350 from $2850 (once you include the extra 25-off). A sweater from The Row will be $150 from $1190, a classic Givenchy dress will be $380 from $2245 and a Missoni knit mini-dress is $220 from $1825.

Take note, we’ve noticed a lot of sizing disappearing since we started drafting this post. We would suggest you plan your shopping strategy accordingly. All sales are final.

Inside: The 260 Luxury Vintage Sale

Sample sale host, 260 Sample Sale, opened a luxury vintage sale in Soho on Tuesday. The sale includes bags, jewelry, and small leather goods from Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Hermès, MCM, Cartier, Gucci, Prada, and more.

Initial pictures showed several tables of Louis Vuitton monogram bags and it piqued my interest. My expectations were low but I was curious about what could be found at this sale. Usually, the merchandise at vintages sales is priced rediculously high and all too often the bags so damaged that they aren’t very desirable.

So I went to inspect. Inside, bags are arranged by brand and color. It’s only the second day of the sale and there was already a price reduction. Currently, all Louis Vuitton is 60% off the ticketed price and all other brands are 50% off. Most of the ticketed prices were on the high-side of the pre-owned mark but the additional discounts made greatly increased the purchasing possibilities. It seems as if current prices are about 10% to 20% below the average online price.

Unfortunately, all the Louis Vuitton monogram merchandise is completely sold out. I saw a handful of Epi leather bags. A Sac A Dos is reduced to $410, a Dhanura PM is $240, and a Masty GM is $260. Beyond Vuitton, I saw a Gucci heart print canvas tote that’s $300, a Bottega Veneta Cabat tote is $1500 and a very proper Cartier shoulder bag is about $370 from an MSRP of $1350. We also spotted a few Loewe scarves that are about $120. They are normally priced at $375 when purchased new. A PM Hermes Garden Party in good condition is $610 and a Fourre Tout PM is $250. You can click here to see pictures.

Much of what remains resembles closet outcasts. Many of the items I saw were priced inexpensively enough to be a consideration but we all know that it will only be a few years of foster care before these orphan bags met the same fate.

I can’t suggest taking a special trip to the sale in its current state. Going forward, I would suggest attending this sale on the opening day. Even without the additional discount, are a bit less than what we have seen online and in vintage stores throughout the world.

I posted pictures from in side the sale today. I also linked a scroll of assorted bags that I saw at the sale for nearly the same price.

Sale Season: Big Ski & Winter Sales

The ski season is drawing to a quick end and retailers are beginning to aggressively reduce winter outerwear and ski gear. Now is the perfect time to stock up and replace whatever you need with discounts exceeding 60% off.

Moda Operandi is reducing all things “ski” by 50% off with the code SKI150. Here is a Yves Salmon fur-trimmed puffer for $750 from $1490, a Fusalp jacket is $500 from$1000 and a Eugenia Kim hat with a pom-pom $113 from $225.

Perfect Moment has quickly captured our hearts and become one of our favorite brands. The quality is exceptional and styling is fun. It’s really perfect for teens and young adults as an alternative to Moncler. MatchesFashion seems to have the best deals — especially after you engage the additional 20% off code. This quilted bomber jacket comes to just $200 from $500 and here is another jacket that’s a more typical ski style for $210 from $434. Matches also has a lot of Fendi jackets with a final discount of 60% off. This velvet down puffer is $1100 from $2900.

Over on Farfetch we found this Off-White bomber reduced 60% off. Here is an MSGM plaid print bomber that’s reduced 70%, plus an additional 20% off. It comes to just about $300 from $1200. We also found this Balmain ski cap that’s $120 from $307.

If you still have your heart set on Moncler,  Nordstrom has a few sale options left.  Here is a woman’s style for 50% off and a men’s style that’s discounted 25% or $840 from $1125.

We suggest you take some time to browse the web. After all it’s always a good idea to buy what you anticipate you will need while it’s on sale.

LN-CC: New Season Gucci and Prada 20% Off

This season, we have noticed that lots of retailers have initiated very early discount promotions. The discounts might not be large but we don’t ever recall such aggressive early season marketing. Even so,  most of these shopping incentives exclude major designers.

It only was a matter of time until we hit the designer jackpot. European luxury emporium, LN-CC is actually focusing on just the items we really want. Early season discounts are up to 20% off. You must use this link to view the promotion discounts. We were excited to find this Gucci crystal top for even $200 off and these Gucci logo high boots are a straight 20% off.

The best part of the promotion might be the bag options. Here is a classic Gucci Marmont for under $850, a Prada transparent tote for $700,  and the new Prada saddle bag is $1200. Other interesting items are Opyum YSL heels, Prada mesh sneakers, and this Prada logo necklace that seems like a great deal for $240.  (The ‘should I buy/should I not buy’ conflict is torture!)

Before you click off, be sure to check out the site’s sale section. There are lots of interesting fashion finds for 60% off. Some items we never even saw on markdown, like this Gucci puffer and this Miu Miu belt bag.

The good thing is that LN-CC is not on the shopping radar of most luxury customers and you have a moment to digest your options before everything sells out. It also doesn’t hurt that this sale is very private. This promotion runs through March 20.

    Farfetch March Madness: 20% Off

March madness doesn’t have to be limited to basketball. Actually, we prefer a month of discounts and that’s exactly what’s being offered on Farfetch. For the entire month, you can save 20% off sale and select full price merchandise. Use this link and the code X20FAR to engage the discount at checkout.

There are lots of full price exclusions, which are indicated by the ‘New Season,’ ‘Permanent Collection,’ and ‘Exclusive’ labels. It actually took some digging to find items not excluded from the promotion. We found this Danse Lente bucket bag that’s about $400 from $500 and this Staud bag that’s $170 from $210.

We happen to love these Tabitha Simmons white pumps but aren’t quite sure about spending $640 on them– that’s after the discount. We’re probably better off with this pair from Neous that come to $230. After lots of digging, we also found that many new-season Onia bathing suits that are included in the promotion.

The search for new season items that are eligible for the deal can be exhausting. Shopping the sale section is a lot more satisfying. Here is a Givenchy bag with fringe that’s $800 from $2700. These blue Stuart Weitzman booties can be great for an outfit and come to only $2250 from $550 and kid’s Golden Goose sneakers are hard to pass up for just $120. Adult sizes in the same style are $130.

This sale runs all month, which means you have some time to mull over your purchases. Just take note, there are some anomalies –like Boyy bags– but they quickly sold out. If you see something that doesn’t make sense, it probably is a mistake and will sell out quickly.
