The IT-it: The Manicure ???? That Will Make You Happy

A great fashion purchase can be uplifting but the right manicure can have similar powers. LeChat’s Perfect Match Mood Gel Polish is quite literally is a mood changer.

This high-tech thermo sensitive polish transforms color according to temperature. One moment your nails can be teal blue and the next, a light lavender. The transition from one color to the other is the most intriguing. The ombre effect during the color change is as delightful. It’s hard to keep yourself from checking and the activity is quite amusing.

LeChat’s Perfect Match Mood Polish comes in 60 colors, including Crimson Nightfall that changes from red to black, Sunset Beach that changes from orange to a misty-rose and, our favorite, Trissie that goes from a deep violet to a light lavender. The gel polishes can be found on Amazon and ranges in price from $13 to $15 a bottle, depending on the seller.

If you’re not someone who likes to commit to a gels, LeChat also offers standard color changing polish ($10). The colors are nearly identical to the gel options.

Its hard to understate how much we’ve loved wearing this polish. You can bet it’s going to be a major part of our Summer rotation. A special shout-out to Elvira for sharing your secret manicure ????.

Presale: Saks Friends & Family Sale

The Saks Fifth Avenue friends and family sale doesn’t start for about a week but all good customers know that the best merchandise is snatched up during the presale period. The sale officially runs from Wednesday, March 21 through Sunday, April 2.

This season, the discount will be 25% off a selection of clothing, shoes and accessories. Jewelry will be discounted 20%. Instead of listing hundreds of designer exclusions and creating a special code, Saks essentially created a friends and family sale section on the website.

Some of the designer-y brands we expect to be included are Edie Parker, Les Petits Joueurs, Nancy Gonzalez and Anya Hindmarc. Among the shoes, we suggest going for Charlotte Olympia, Chiara Ferragni or something quirky from Alice & Olivia.

It’s much harder to speculate about what designer fashions might be included in the sale. It’s safe to suspect that most contemporary brands will be participating. We are hoping that some of the new emerging street wear brands, like Off-White, will be included in the promotion.

If you’re a point collector, you should take note that designers not included in the sale will be eligible for triple points. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the friends and family inclusions are plentiful. For now, stay tuned for this evolving story.

    Tibi’s Online Sample Sale

    Happy first day of Spring!

What better way to tick off the new season than to take advantage of sample sale that doesn’t require you to move an inch. Tibi is hosting its first online sample sale where prices are discounted up to 80% off.

Some of our favorite items include an Italian shearling aviator jacket that’s reduced to $1128 from $2800, wide legged leather pants are $239 from almost $1200 and a Pantone green knit sweatshirtt is $98 from $400.

More suited for Spring, is this off-the-shoulder blouse that’s $100 from $345. There is also a pair of smoking slippers from Tibi’s collaboration with Del Toro that’s $200 from $365.

This sale is for only a few days and ends Thursday at midnight. We are a little disappointed there aren’t more of Tibi’s signature dresses but at least there aren’t any traditional sample sale lines.

Barneys Sale: We Cracked the Code

Barneys removed the link to their seasonal markdown several weeks ago but some sly searching proves that the sale merchandise is still available for purchase online. Some items are discounted as much as 75% off. You can use this link to see for yourself.

The best markdowns are the clothing, of course. This Sies Marjan pencil skirt is $250 from $990 and a Saint Laurent floral print dress is $600 from $2450. Among the shoes we found these Aquazzura flats for $260 from $700 and Marséll wedge ankle boots for $400 from $990.

This gold garland that’s just $38 from $128 is perfect for festival season or August in Greece. Two of the most unexpected finds are this men’s Moncler jacket for $790 from $1300 and a fringed Saint Laurent bucket bag for $859 from $2150.

You’ll see that the selection isn’t vast but it might be worth your while to bookmark the page. It’s always nice to have back door VIP access.

The Outnet Blowout Gets Even Better

Last week, we reported that The Outnet was clearing out old merchandise in a super online blowout sale. Today, the sale got even better and additional discounts bring some items to nearly 90% off retail.

The inventory is very limited. We find it’s easiest to browse through this mega-sale by sorting for your individual shoe or clothing size. Some of our favorite items include a Delpozo mini-dress dress (size FR42) that’s $275 from $2500, a Mary Katrantzou sequined dress (UK 8 & UK 12) that’s $424 from $3860 and a Missoni dress (IT 40) that’s $262 from $2390.

Among the shoes, Chloe python boots (34, 40.5 & 41.5) have been further reduced to $318 from $2120, Tabitha Simmons sandals (35.5 & $665) are only $100 from $665 and Malone Souliers booties (40.5) are $157 from $1050. You need to grab these Prada flats if you fit in a 37.5 or these Alexander Wang sandals if you’re a size 39.5.

The sale ends Thursday (March 16). If the shoe, dress, pants or skirt fits– buy it now!

Thank you for the sharp eye, Lauren!

Ralph Lauren Friends & Family 30% Off

Ralph Lauren started a friends & family sale today that will run through Thursday, March 23. The markdown is 30% and includes regular and sale priced merchandise. The promotion is only online and you will need to use the code FRIENDS to engage the discount.

Take note, that the discount is not applicable to the Ralph Lauren’s higher end brands like, Purple Label and the Collection. Among the items that you can apply the savings are these leather leggings that come to about $700 from nearly $1000, a two-tone leather jacket that’s already discounted 50% and after the promotional discount comes to $525 from $1500 and a big pony polo that is $27 from $115.

We often having the best luck using this type of sale to restock men’s basics and start getting the kids ready for camp. Here are classic polo’s for guys, in a variety of colors, that come to just $20 from $90 and this big pony style polo is $25 from $110. For boys, here are classic belted shorts for $25, joggers for $18 and $8 tees. For girls’, there are a lot of preppy dress but we really love these gold cowboy boots that come to about $50 from nearly $200.

Considering these prices, it’s hard to even justify shopping for Ralph Lauren at a discount store. We just wish they would be a little more transparent about the difference between each line. It’s very confusing to even the savviest customer.

    Net-A-Porter Secret Discount Code

It’s cold and wet outside, Bergdorf Goodman is closed but we have the perfect snow day activity. Net-A-Porter just gave their top customers a secret code, which can save you 10% on almost everything on the site. Just use the code SPRING when checking out. The best part is that there are hardly any restrictions!

Speaking of Spring, as the snow melts we are optimistically looking forward to some new trends. One set of items that are on our must-have list are floral sandals. Some of our favorites include these Fendi slides with floral appliqué details ($900), Prada sandals with flower appliqués ($990) and these cactus heels ($480) from the Man Repeller collaboration.  We also really like these Sam Edelman floral print bright orange slides ($100).

The easiest way to build a seasonal wardrobe is to concentrate on a color. Pink has been going strong since last year and we wouldn’t hesitate adding more to your collection. This pink grecian Norma Kamali off-the-shoulder jersey dress ($185) easily transitions from city streets to poolside or beach. We also love this Miu Miu pink blouse ($895) that has a bit of Western detailing. Give your next business presentation in this Haider Ackermann satin deep pink suit ($1400 for the blazer). It’s killer. A Rachel Zoe suit is a less expensive option but– is the color a little bubblegum?

We are sure you’ll have no problem finding your own favorites for Spring. This 10% discount code is only valid until March 20. Although the discount isn’t super high, we will accept it as gift. After all, the next big markdown isn’t until the end of May.
