    Scoop Consolidation Sale

Today we got an email about 75% off at Scoop. We know that song seemed familiar so we looked in our archives and found that Scoop had a 75% off sale way back in January. We were not thrilled about seeing the same old fall 2008 threads but we were still curious.

We put in a call to our favorite Scoop sale person and stylist extraordinaire and asked her for the real deal. Ranee told us that all the leftover inventory from all the Scoop stores in the country (11 stores in total) have consolidated their inventory on Third Avenue.

She said there’s lots of very expensive clothing that was already 75% to 85% off and now it’s an additional 25% off the tagged price. Expect to see lots of $3000 Missoni and Alaia reduced to $300 or $400. Now these are prices we can sink our credit cards into.

Stay tuned. We will be twittering live from the sale first thing in the morning and post a wrap-up here so that you’re sure not to miss a single Matthew Williamson.

    Off Season Shopping

This is one of the hardest times of the year for shoppers like us. The new collection is in, the weather is still cold and prices are still high. What’s a shopper to do?

Go online. Normally we are not big fans of shopping online and those sample sale sites really remove all the fun from our sport. However, it’s worth keeping your eyes open. For example, last May, Neiman Marcus threw their overstock Manolos online and were blowing them out for just about $100.

Then last night, on Saks.com, we came across $795 Louboutins marked down to $277. There was one size and guess what? The shoe fit!

Barneys.com has $430 classic pump Miu Mius marked down to $169. Bottom line: No matter the season a good deal can be found.

    Donna Karan Sale

We hear that Donna Karan’s Urban Zen store is about to slash prices. Fall clothing, jewelry, books and housewares will all be 90% off. The sale runs until Sunday and part of the proceeds will go towards Donna’s organization, Urban Zen, which is dedicated to promoting well being, empowering children and preserving cultures.

    Location: 711 Greenwich St.

Hours: Mon- Fri 11am-6pm, Sat 10am-6pm, Sun 12-5

    Stylist’s Shoe Sale

    We are loving this:

The ShoeStylista — a shoe stylist, obviously– sent fashionista an email promoting a private sale of Manolos and Louboutins at her apartment. We are sure that she has been overwhelmed with email requests because the link is also on Racked.com .

We emailed and are waiting to hear back. Let us know if you get a crack at the shoe sale. ShoeStylista, next time you want to unload your inventory please let us know first!

    Details from fashionista are below.

    Hi Britt & Natalie,

I’m a freelance stylist looking to rid of about twenty pairs of shoes. They’re in mint condition, straight from this season’s runways and presentations. There are custom Manolo sandals and booties and Louboutin styles include the Peniche, Miss Golf, Defil, Lapino ankle booties and Rolandos. They range in size from 37.5 to 41.5 and in price from $250 to $375 with the over-the-knee black Manolo boots going for $500.

I’m doing an open to the public sale at my apartment and was wondering if you know anyone who might be interested. They can email me for more information/the address.

    Thanks!

    Hermes Sale Update

    A Mad-Spy reader writes:

I stopped in today and there is the normal scarves and ties. Nothing great in shoes, some belts, lots of leather goods (bags included), canvas garden party bags in small sizes only. Plus the normal clothing racks that no one is touching, some of the things are the same as last sale. Shoe prices were higher than last time but bag prices were lower.

Racked.com reviewed the first day of the sale and said that the line was anemic compared to prior sales (just 40 mins). Even big spending Hermes fans are keeping their hands in their pockets this season.

The sale ends Saturday, so we are thinking that the line should be pretty lean tomorrow about 3pm. Let us know if we’re right!

    Loehmann’s Helps Fight Ovarian Cancer

On Thursday March 26th, Loehmann’s is sponsoring the Fashion Funds for Hope event in all stores across the nation. Give a $5 donation to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund at the register and you get 15% off.

The $5 donation plus 5% of the proceeds from that day go to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. We have friends working at the event in the Chelsea store in the evening. Take a spin by, say hello, spend some money, save some money, pray for a cure.

    Bloomingdales and Saks Updates

A Mad-Spy reader writes us that the Bloomingdales sale is better than we were told:

“It’s actually for every $100 you get $25 off your overall purchase. Plus 20% off almost anything on the second floor and 40% off already reduced merch. Just an FYI I was there last night!”

Another fan scouted Saks today and says:

I got a great free mani pedi but there’s nothing on sale.

    Bloomingdales “Private Sale”

Bloomingdales is hosting a “private sale” from March 31st to April 2nd. We have no idea why the sale is being called private because the incentive isn’t even great. For every $100 you spend you get a $15 gift card. Presale started today.

The difference between the Saks gift card incentive and Bloomingdales is that Bloomies gives you the gift card for big designer names like Chanel. Lets see how much longer that lasts. Good incentives never last long.
