Holiday shopping season is in full swing. After sale shopping for yourself and buying gifts for your closest ones, there usually isn't that much of a budget left for everyone else on your list. We are lucky that Global Fashions, the official luxury distributor for several Italian designer brands, will be opening its showroom to the public for a luxury holiday gift sale.
If you've been to a Global Fashions sale before you probably know the treasures that behold. We got a sneak peek today. We found it seriously hard to buy gifts for other's because there were so many things we wanted for ourselves. You can see pictures we took over here.
Discounts start at 70% off and couture clothing is reduced as much as 80%-- if you're so inclined. We found an extensive assortment of cold weather accessories, like hats, gloves and scarves, small leather goods, leather, and sparkly jewelry. There are also lots of perfectly priced small bags that will make a perfect gift-- especially at these prices.
Many items we spotted were in the $150 range, like leather driving gloves with Rockstud edging around the wrist are $157 from $525, a bright pink folded wallet with turquoise studs is $133 from $445, a silk scarf with a floral motif is $172 from $557 and a leather bracelet with studs is about $80 from $276. Did we mention that everything comes with a box?!!
If your budget is a little bigger we found plenty of bags priced below $900. A mini Rockstud tote with silver hardware is $780 from $2600, a mini Glamlock is $690 from $2295, a larger small Rockstud Spike bag is also $690 from $2295. We have pictures over here in the jump.
There is also an assortment of great gifts for guys including sneakers and small leather goods. There are many styles of slip-on sneakers for $210 from $695, a black camo dopp kit is $153 from $538, and a studded belt is about $240 from nearly $800. There are also ski hats and scarves that are about $150 . Click for pics.
We expect that the less expensive gift items like scarves, headbands, turbans and little wallets will go very fast. There is some inventory but it won't last very long-- especially when people are stocking up on gifts We suggest you hit this sale first thing if you really need to cross out your to-do list. Sale season is in high gear. The markdowns and promotions have been more agressive than we remember in almost a decade. Right now you can spot merchandise markdowns of about 50% off at many department stores. This season, it's even harder to keep up as many stores are adding extra limited-time promotional discounts.
Below is a comparison chart of Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue. We added an extra column for promotions. Remember these are limited time and tend to change at a moment's notice.
The handbag selection at Saks is much better than its competitors but that's because the discount isn't very good. We suggest you do your browsing now and put your favorites in your cart. When the next markdown happens --likely, later this week-- you'll be set and ready to check out. On the flip side, we found so much great clothing at Saks already discounted to 60% off. Get sorting!
No stores are discounting Chanel, just yet. We are told that the Chanel boutiques won't go on sale this season. All Chanel markdowns will occur at department stores.
This is bound to be a big weekend of shopping. Whether you're looking for yourself or shopping for other's you'll find the best markdowns at Barneys right now. The discount is 40% off clothing and shoes and 30% off handbags. For now, you can save an additional 20% off, which brings the discount to 50% off on most items.
We expect that the Chanel markdown will occur next week. We don't have full details but keep your eyes glued to this space. The second Barneys markdown should take place on December 7. Discounts will be up to 60% off.
Finding the right gift for everyone on your list can be daunting and expensive. At just the right time, Global Fashions is hosting a holiday gift sale that is sure to thrill your loved ones and save you a handsomely.
Starting Tuesday, you can shop a variety of premium European brands at 70% off. (If you're inclined, couture clothing is discounted 80%.) Of course, there will also be lots of thrilling discounted handbags and shoes.

Another day, another retail promotion. Today, Neiman Marcus is running a one-day promotion where all sale shoes are an extra 25% off. That brings the discount to about 50% off on most styles.
There will be another Neiman Marcus promotion in early December where all sale merchandise, not just shoes, are an extra 20% off. The second markdown will take place on December 10th but the discounts will be the same as they are now with the additional discount. We suggest you take advantage now because the second markdown tends to attract a lot more attention and your size might be gone.
Many stores started their markdowns before Thanksgiving. Christian Louboutin is one of the standout brands that marches to the beat of its own sale schedule. It's always a big mystery as to when Louboutin will begin its sale.
Wonder no more, Christian Louboutin is officially on sale. The first markdown is 40% at Christian Louboutin standalone boutiques, at the Louboutin department the Saks Fifth Avenue on Fifth Avenue and at Barneys. The discount is 30% at all other Saks stores, Bergdorfs, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.
To get the best overview of what's on sale we visited our neighborhood Christian Louboutin-- on Madison, obviously. Some highlights include Cosmo pumps that are $420 from $695, Anjalina pumps with spikes around the edges are %500 from $845 and Pigalle Follies with cracked mirrored leather are $450 from $375. There are also a vareity of handbags at 40% off.
It's time to get serious about holiday gifting. Thanking your business partners is one of the most complicated giftings of the season. Your presents need to represent the ethos of your company and appropriately show gratitude to those who support you throughout the year.
It's also important not to go overboard, you don't want your gift to seem like a bribe. On the flip side, you don't want to send a gift a fruit basket to someone who entrusts you with a mega-size portfolio or trusted you to list their $30-million brownstone.
Below are a few ideas to thank your customers and business partners. As for employees, everyone appreciates cash.
The Baccarat Eyelit vase is the perfect item to make a genuine statement of gratitude. The price point ranges from $11,900 for the extra large but the small size is $540.
A Rimowa suitcase is just the right message to gift someone who has been working hard on your behalf. We love that there are also a number of price points from which to choose. The Rimowa Stealth carryon is $1,375 and can turn heads even in a First Class lounge. It's made of aluminum and magnesium and is more poised than the over-hyped Supreme-Rimowa collaboration. A less expensive option is the Rimowa Essential carryon for $540. We are sure it will be cherished just as much as the Stealth.
The holiday season is about celebrating. What better way to mark the event with this quirky Alessi Anna G Corkscrew. It's just $70 (and Bloomingdales is offering a 25% off.) You can send the corkscrew alone or pair it with a bottle of wine.
Forget about the cliché candle. This season we have our eyes on the Diptyque electronic diffuser. It's essentially a plug-in air freshener and you refill it with your favorite scented cartridge. The electronic element is $350 and the scented cartridges are $38. There is even an electronic diffuser for the car that's $60.
Last year, we were all gifted with a Lineige travel beauty kit. I fell in love with the products so much that I recently bought full-size versions of each item. The Korean brand beauty kit is just $25 and is everything you need to pamper yourself before, during and after traveling. If you have a bigger budget you can spring for the Dyson hairdryer- OUAI set. The iconic hairdryer comes with Ouai leave-in conditioner, hair & body oil, memory mist, and texturizing hairspray and the price is $399-- the same as the dryer alone but has a "value" of $465.
