The new season is upon us and there are new trends to explore. This Spring we will be introduced to the teardrop shape bag. The new silhouette features a rounded sack-type base that culminates with a short middle handle that can be worn as a wristlet.
This trend has a casual feel of a bucket bag with the elegance of a clutch. Unlike a clutch, there is the added hands-free bonus.
Some standout styles for Spring include a Bottega Veneta style, called The Twist, that is offered in a traditional woven style ($2200) or in flat leather ($1900). S. Joon ($400) is a newcomer to the handbag tab and offers a contemporary priced option of the teardrop shape. Alaia ($1490) offers its own version ranging from pony hair to its signature laser cut ($2560). Jimmy Choo ($1550) has an evening version with crystals.
If you’re interested in the Bottega Twist, finding a deal isn’t always so simple. We found this orange woven version for $1692 and the flat style for $1616.
The new shape is a welcomed change. It’s a nice excuse to add something new to the collection without feeling it’s a redundant purchase. What do you think of the teardrop shape?
