This week, the biggest friends and family event is Thanksgiving. The difference between Black Friday and Cyber Monday are almost indistinguishable. There are great deals whether you’re looking for the excitement of crowds or prefer to shop solo from your computer. Below are our top picks for Black Friday but rest assured that the deals are almost identical if you are shopping online.
Saks Fifth Avenue
Prices for the shopping extravaganza will be reduced up to 60% off if you can get to the store before noon. (The discount is available online now.) An Alice & Olivia print skirt is $120 from almost $300 and Alexander Wang wedges are $260 from $650. Just a warning, the early Saks crowd can be overwhelming. This is a great time to shop for beauty items. Right now you can get a $25 gift card for every $100 you spend. Just remember to use the code BEAUTY at checkout.
Gap/Banana Republic/Athleta
Stock up on all your basics and hats, gloves and pajamas for the kids. Everything is 50% off in honor of Black Friday. Women’s denim jacket is $35 from $90 and girl’s pom-pom hat is $10 from $20. Banana is offering 50% off sweaters and an extra 40% off already reduced items. Athleta is offering 20% off through Monday.
Uniqlo
It’s hard to list out which items are the best deals because there are so many. Here is a laundry list of our favorites: Ultra Light Down jackets for your entire family (women’s now $50 from $80). The Carine [Roitfeld) blazer is very nicely constructed and is reduced to $120 from $150 and cashmere sweaters are reduced to $50 from $80. Shipping is free and online shoppers save $15 for every $100 they spend.
Nordstrom
Designer discounts are up to 40% off and there is an extra 25% off sale items. Take note that the Nordstrom collaboration pop-up with Opening Ceremony is now live/open. There are no discounts but the collection is stocked with great gift items. Lots are bound to go on sale but it’s always nice to start stalking what you want early.
