Earlier this month we wrote about Krizia closing their doors after 15 years. We are happy to report that the Italian design house did not abandon Madison Avenue but rather moved two blocks uptown to a smaller location.
The smaller revival is just two blocks up on 68th street. The spot housed Moschino in the 90s and most recently Searle. Sources say that prime space, like this, can be had for about $400 sq. ft. Last year, the asking price was about $1000 sq. ft.
The slimmed down version of Krizia doesn’t seem as ritzy but in this economy it may be a smart move. After all, we can’t remember the last time we saw anyone else in the store.
